French New Wave

French New Wave

When I was watching clips from these films, I was very interested in the way they filmed it. I was even more interested when I was told that they had colored film but they just chose to shoot in black and white. I liked this idea so much because even though they were taking away color, which plays a big role in most films, it didn’t take away anything from these films. They were able to tell so much more in the way they filmed than the colors would if they were there. I also was very interested in these films because they showed so much raw emotion with the simplest scenes. They didn't need a shot do someone explain their feeling because you could see it all in the way the camera followed them while they walked, danced, or ran. You could see all of the characters emotions by the way the camera highlighted their face. It really have a personality to the character despite there being no color in the films.
